the drawbacks to making games for 1080p is the draw on the system. Even high end computers have to turn off effects like hdr and aa when displaying in that high of a resolution. And thats with computers using 1 gig of video ram and 2 more gigs of system ram. So you can see how 512 total ram thats in the ps3 and the 360 is not sufficient to make an effecient 1080p game. They could but it would be a major hit to the performance of the game. Unless it was Tetris in 1080p. lol...then that wo...

If thats true Mr. Liar. Why does the hd dvd player that outputs 1080i look better than the blu ray player that outputs 1080p, when both being played on 1080p tv's? I can give you multiple reviews to where HD dvd wins in the visual department head to head with the 1080p blu ray player. That alone contradicts your claims of 1080i de interlaced will never look as good as 1080p. They are the exact same images. Its just the way its displayed thats different. You don't even understand the links you...

Deinterlacing can be done (if it needs to be) at various points in the chain from filming to watching. When it is done affects the quality of the deinterlace, because the quality of the deinterlacer can vary.

If done by an embedded electronic device, the quality varies depending on the overall quality of the device. High-quality electronic devices also have high-quality deinterlacers.

Taiwanese developers favor HD-DVD in 360
Posted in Xbox 360, Hardware, Business by Curry on August 20th, 2006 at 20:20
Console titans Microsoft and Sony are taking a completely different approach to the next generation of huge storage. The first sticks to the current dual-layer DVD standard completely as far as games are concerned, whilst Sony tries to give its Blu-Ray format extra momentum by incorporating it into its upcoming PlayStation 3 console. Taiwanese game developers a...

You are the minority. Enjoy your blu ray. But understand that is the reason sony will never sell 100 million systems again. They blew it big time. They was handed the keys to the gaming industry and now they abused that privelage by pushing a formatt that most people DON'T WANT. The truth to sony fans is like krytonite to superman. Get over it.

WE DON'T WANT BLU RAY. I WANT THE NEW PLAYSTATION BUT WE DON'T WANT BLU RAY. WHY MAKE US PAY FOR BLU RAY. THAT ADDS 200 TO THE PRICE OF YOUR GAMING SYSTEM AND WE DON'T WANT IT. ARE YOU LISTENING SONY? MOST PEOPLE DO NOT WANT BLU RAY. WE WON'T BUY YOUR STINKIN MOVIES. IT WILL FAIL JUST LIKE YOUR PSP MOVIE FORMATT. WE WANT GAMES SONY. GET IT? GOT IT? GOOD.

"Deinterlacing of video actually causes image degradation. Therefore 1080i will never be as high in quality as 1080p, even when de-interlaced by HDTVs.".

Both systems can make 1080p games. Its just not feasable. And yes both will display 1080p movies. Very true. I don't see developers making 1080p games on either system. But we will see. I wouldn't be shocked if they eventually did. But the hit on hardware is the issue with that high of a resolution in progressive. even high end computers with 3 gigs of total ram have to turn off hdr or aa to get that resolution. 512 don't cut it for displaying 1080p effeciantly. We'll see.

Coninues to lie because he hates the fact that Sony is pushing 1080p in their system yet if you go buy a tv TODAY thats 1080p, they will tel you and show you that the tvs are so advanced now that they do de interlace to perfection. Why does DJ not want you to know this? Well because then it would make Sony's claims irrelevant. Go to your local best buy and play a hd dvd player on a 1080p Television and you can see for yourself how a 1080i image de interlaced looks better than the blu ray p...

The difference is how its displayed. But they both are 1080 by 1920 lines of resolution and the same pixels. Look at the link and see that the difference is how its displayed. They both show the same image. Just in a different way. Keep in mind the link shows in slow motion what happens. But when playing a game or watching a movie its sped up drasticall...

Deinterlacing is often called line doubling in many cases. There is confusion when this is referred to as interpolation), which uses spatial filtering to generate extra lines and hence reduce the visibility of pixelation on any type of display.[2]. Line doubling often refers to the conversion from interlaced to progressive scan, while maintaining vertical resolution. The 'doubling' terminology comes from the fact that an interlaced field contains half the resolution of a full frame. The termi...

"You just don't get it. Interlaced is half the resolution of Progressive"

He will never be able to show a link supporting that. WHY? Because its not true. Its an out right lie. Its the same pixels displayed period. Its just one is interlaced together and one is progressive. But like I stated previously. If you have a 1080p tv. It will be displayed the exact same.

And when its de interlaced its exactly the same as a 1080p signal. But regardless the pixel detail is the same. Read the links. lol...lol...lol..... So what DJ is conveniantly avoiding telling everyone is, if you have a 1080p tv that properly de interlaces....there is no difference. But regardless its still the same amount of pixels being shown. Its just the way its being shown. Interlaced or Progressive. Pixels don't change. And they are identical if your tv de interlaces. You won'...

and it was alright. nice particle effects but nothing special gameplay-wise. The aiming felt almost exactly like KillSwitch and the AI was standard. Walked into walls to try and kill me. You know the drill.

I haven't tried the mech controls yet though; maybe that section of the gameplay is more promising? I liked the ratchet & clank style grappling though, and the explosions are really cool. I just wish the gameplay was mo...
